  1. Wow, great shot…. I love the ghostly look of these silouettes! Do you know if those are ancient kind of cave-art, or if it is more recent? I’m just curious… 🙂

    1. Thanks! This was taken at the Great Gallery inside Horseshoe Canyon in Utah. It was painted by Natives well over 1000 years ago (possibly as early as the year 400). The paint is actually some sort of mineral which has permanently stained the rocks . Utah is crawling with this type of art (pictographs), as well as thousands of rock carvings. I toted four cameras into the canyon – a hike of only seven or eight miles, but it involved a steep descent and climb of over 700 feet. I carried about a gallon of water and was dry by the time I got out.

      Totally worth it.
