Hear Your Voice Again

Hear Your Voice Again

Hear Your Voice Again
Camera: Argus C3 (1940)
Film: Polypan F (x-2006); 100iso
Process: Xtol 1+1; 11min
Lake Albert, Oregon

I return to the Argus C3 more often than any other camera. This year alone, I’ve shot 16 rolls through it. This might not seem like a lot, especially considering that I’ve shot over 70 rolls this year (which also doesn’t seem like a lot). But keep in mind that I’ve shot with twenty or so cameras.

It’s all math, so I don’t really care to delve into it. But the Argus C3 is amazingly cheap. If you pay more than $20 for one, you got ripped off. That said, go get one. And then shoot Polypan F through it.

  1. I have not warmed to the C3. That disappoints me, because I want to like this camera. I have shot two, one a Match-Matic, and just can’t find the joy. Someone has given me a third, which is probably the oldest of them, and I’m going to give it one more go.

    1. I can definitely see how these things aren’t for everyone. They’re not fun to shoot, really. For me, it’s the results. Maybe it’s the film I use or the subject matter, I’m not sure. But I don’t think there’s a 35mm I like better. There are many that I enjoy shooting more, but none give me the overall pleasure that the Brick delivers. But give them another chance. If you still don’t like it, then it’s just not the camera for you.

What are you shooting mostly these days?
