George, Washington is the only town in America to be fully named after a president. Of course, only a town in Washington could do this.
The town was founded on July 4th (of course), 1954. Each Independence day, it bakes what it claims to be the world’s largest cherry pie. The pie weighs half a ton, which is about 37,000lbs lighter than the Canadian town of Oliver, British Columbia that actually holds the record, but who’s counting?
Its streets are named after varieties of cherries such as Montmorency, Bing, Wild, Van, and Richmond.
