A Season Seeking Hope and Rest

I’m sure this house has stories to tell. But I can’t tell them. According to a 1917 map, the land belonged to M.J. Niedermeyer. A similar map from 1961 listed the owner as I.R. Neidermeyer. This same plot of land, including the house, had been in the Niedermeyer (or Neidermeyer) family for nearly half a century.

And yet, not a trace of either can be found in newspapers, gravesite listings, historical records and the like. These things happen sometimes. Not everyone can leave a legacy. But it is strange.
