In the late 1899 editions of the Glenwood, Iowa Opinion-Tribune ran ads for land near Woodbine.
Under the headline of “Go To Harrison County and Get You A Farm,” this was the copy:
280 acres 7 miles from Woodbine, 110 acres in cultivation, which lays well, 7 acres of young timber, balance pasture which is gently rolling and is well watered by spring. Good house of 7 rooms and a splendid cellar. Large barn, large double crib with shingled roof, granary, cattle shed, good well and orchard. Price $30 per acre. A fine stock farm an a bargain.
