As Shadows and Memories

The Big Buffalo Petroglyph in Utah’ Nine Mile Canyon was created by the Fremont People in (very roughly) 1000ish AD.

The entire canyon is brimming with rock art from various time periods (mostly Fremont and Ute) and has stone structures from Fremont settlements if you know where to look. It’s all more or less protected by the BLM and is free to the public.

The canyon is near Price, Utah and absolutely worth a visit. I suggest taking the road south from just west of Myton then exploring the canyon to the east and west when you get there. Head west to Price and Helper for more fun.
